Family Support Services

The WV Family Support Program began in 1991 as a result of legislation passed by the WV Legislature. The program is available in every county and provides individual services and supports to familes who have a person with a developmental disability living at home.
Family Support provides limited funding to buy needed services and goods that can not be purchased through other sources.
Family Support provides information to assist in finding services and maximizing community resources.

Family Support funds are available as a last resort after all other funding sources have been exhausted and provides only limited funding to buy needed goods and services which cannont be purchased through other services. Funding amounts vary based upon local council guidelines and availability.
