The services provided by Southern Highlands 24-Hour Residential Program are diverse and intended to meet the needs of a wide variety of individuals with mental retardation/developmental disabilities and or Severe and Persistent Mental Illness. This is accomplished through the utilization of Community Based Group Homes, Supported Living Residences and Crisis Respite Services. A 6 bed Group Home located in Bluefield WV and funded by a grant from DHHR offers residential support services around the clock to psychiatrically disabled adults living in the community. An eight bed Group Living Residence, also located in Bluefield, serves Title XIX Home and Community Based MR/DD Waiver Members by providing a variety of supportive services necessary for them to live in the community as successfully as possible. Seven Supported Living Sites are part of a growing program in Princeton WV and serve 2 - 3 Waiver Members each. These are private residences belonging to the Waiver Members who live there and share
the household expenses. These attractive, well maintained homes are staffed 24 Hours a day by fully trained staff who provide the training, assistance and supports necessary for the Waiver Members to live in their own home. A three bed Crisis Respite Unit is also located in Princeton and accepts statewide referrals. Visit our link for more information on this service.
