Who Are We?
Friends Unlimited (F.UN.) is an association of individuals with developmental delays and their caregivers who are committed to expanding social opportunities for adults of all abilities. Our officers include Kellan Sarles (Pres.), Linda Modena (V.P.), Shirley Barbary, Secretary, and Randy Sarles, Treasurer. Planning Council members include Judy Akers, Cathy Cook, Ulissa Dowell, and Ralph Modena.
Who May Participate? Adults of all abilities and their care providers.
What Do We Do? Friends Unlimited holds monthly dances or other social events such as bowling and cook-outs. All events include snacks or a light meal and are free to participants. Attendance averages 80 - 120 people.
When Do These Events Happen? Below is a tentative calendar of upcoming events. Typically, dances are scheduled for the 3rd or 4th weekend of each month (except Dec., June, July, and August) from 6:30 – 8:30 PM. Participants receive flyers or e-mails in advance of each event.
Where Are Events Held? Most of our dances are held at the Princeton Elks Lodge in Green Valley.
How Are We Funded? We have been the recipient of several grants and charitable donations. The Kathlyn Monk Charitable Trust has been a generous and loyal supporter of our program.
Why Do We Exist? Adults need fun, too. Folks of all ages and abilities enjoy a night out, time to socialize with friends, listen to music, dance, and enjoy snacks. Participants have found a community of friends; care providers have created a network of support.
