Case Manager

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, counseling, or a related field
  • At least one (1) year experience in working with specific population to be served and related license and/or certification

Case Managers provide a variety of services to consumers who are experiencing mental health and/or substance use challenges, with the overall goal of ensuring consumers receive appropriate care and have access to resources that promote their wellbeing.

 

Case Manager Walk-In Crisis

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, counseling, or a related field
  • At least one (1) year experience in working with specific population to be served and related license and/or certification
  • Valid driver's license and a satisfactory driving record

Director of Children Services-Mercer County

  • Master’s degree in counseling, psychology, or social work with two (2) years of direct clinical experience required and an active license are preferred.
  • Two (2) years of experience working with children and adolescents is preferred. 
  • Previous supervision of a clinic or behavioral health program is preferred.
  • Must demonstrate versatility, with the ability to perform a range of clinical services, including therapy, case management/care coordination, and receptionist responsibilities, as needed.

The Director of Children’s Services oversees the daily operations of the Children’s Services program at SHCMHC and ensures the safety and welfare of program consumers

 

Direct Support Professional (DSP) 

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record

Southern Highlands is seeking applicants to provide direct care services to consumers living in our 24-hour 7 day a week residential site. Staff will be responsible for providing residential support to assist consumers by ensuring that their safety, physical, social, health, emotional, economic and training needs are met. 

 

Janitor

  • High school diploma or GED

Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) (CSU)

The Licensed Practical Nurse provides direct assistance with daily dispensing and delivery of medications, assesses medication compliance, and assists with referrals to medical and community providers.

 

Nurse Practitioner

  • An Active, Current, Full and Unrestricted Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner License with the Board or Nursing in the State Of West Virginia (WV)
  • Behavioral Health Experience (preferred)
  • Valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record

Southern Highlands CMHC is looking for a Psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioner to provide a wide range of mental health services to consumers including diagnosing, conducting therapy, and prescribing medications for patients who have psychiatric disorders, medical organic brain disorders or substance use problems. The PMHNP will have a focus on psychiatric diagnosis, including the differential diagnosis of medical disorders with psychiatric symptoms, and on medication treatment for psychiatric disorders.

 

Peer Recovery Support Specialist (PRSS)

  • High school diploma or equivalent. 
  • At least one (1) year of experience working with consumers with substance use challenges preferred
  • At least two (2) years of sobriety are required. 
  • A PRSS certification from the West Virginia Certification Board for Addiction and Prevention Professionals (WVCBAPP) is required to be eligible for hire except in PRSS positions funded by a grant, which allows a specified timeframe to complete the certification after hire. 
  • Valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record

The Peer Recovery Support Specialist provides a variety of services to consumers who are experiencing substance use challenges with the overall goal of providing them with a strong foundation for recovery.

 

Physician Assistant or Family Nurse Practitioner

  • Must hold an active, current, full, and unrestricted license to practice as a Physician Assistant or Family Nurse Practitioner in the state of West Virginia.
  • Psychiatric certification is preferred for both Physician Assistants and Family Nurse Practitioners.
  • Must meet all state requirements for Prescriptive Authority and possess a current DEA number and DEA-X waiver license.
  • Behavioral health experience is preferred but not required.
  • Valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record

The Physician Assistant or Family Nurse Practitioner in behavioral health provides medical care to consumers with mental health or substance use issues. Responsibilities include diagnosing conditions, developing treatment plans, and managing medications. The Physician Assistant or Family Nurse Practitioner works with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care and support for consumers' overall well-being.

 

Psychologist

  • Master's degree in psychology
  • License (preferred) OR eligible for supervision/licensure
  • Valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record

Provides an array of psychological services including testing and assessment, individual and group therapy, assessment of suicidal risk, mental hygiene certifications, crisis intervention, linking, and consumer advocacy.

 

Receptionist/Information Administrative Specialist-Mercer County

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver's license and a satisfactory driving record

The Receptionist/Information Administrative Specialist is responsible for greeting all consumers and visitors, operation of the switchboard and entering financial information for each consumer.  An ability to relate to the public in person and by telephone is essential.

 

Registered Nurse (RN) Assertive Community Treatment (ACT)

  • Registered Nurse with an active license to practice in West Virginia is required.
  • Two years of experience in serving behavioral health consumers is strongly preferred.

The Registered Nurse provides nursing and medical care in conjunction with and under the supervision of a Licensed Provider for Assertive Community Treatment (ACT).

 

Therapist

  • Master’s degree in human service field with and active licensure preferred 
  • One (1) year of experience in counseling preferred
  • Valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record

Provides an array of psychological services including testing and assessment, individual and group therapy, assessment of suicidal risk, mental hygiene certifications, crisis intervention, linking, and consumer advocacy.

 

Transporter

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Experience with mental health and substance use disorders in the adult population required.
  • Must be able to execute Crisis Intervention techniques in order to assist consumers or staff crises.
  • Valid driver's license and a satisfactory driving record

The Transporter will be responsible for driving and assisting on a non-emergency patient transport transporting sick or convalescent persons to/from appointment, community resources, etc. The Transporter will work with consumers involved in mental health/substance abuse treatment, and/or those at risk of hospitalization or who have been involuntarily committed or are at risk for hospitalization.
